Hakutake is Japan’s best-selling Honkaku Rice Shochu. Imparted with the luxurious and smooth flavor of rice, Hakutake has delighted fans of Rice Shochu in Japan for years.
While Rice Shochu is typically made from rice and Rice Koji, the exquisitely smooth Hakutake Zenkoji is made from 100% Rice Koji, which is said to be of the utmost importance in the making of Rice Shochu due to its wealth of umami components.
Production of all-Koji Shochu is a more involved process than normal Shochu. However, we believe the result is well worth it – a richness and depth of flavor made possible by the subtle character of the Rice-Koji, which is even further enriched by its increased aging period.
It is our wish to spread Honkaku Rice Shochu from Japan to the world with a quality spirit that highlights the flavor and richness of our flagship product. With this goal in mind, a captivating and easy-drinking Rice Shochu, Hakutake Zenkoji, was born.
